PCMatic.com and MyCleanPC.com Truth Test

I am going to finally take one of my test PCs, load it up with viruses and other malware and Windows problems and buy PCMatic and MyCleanPC services to see what they really do. My clients have told me they’re nothing but scams, but I want to prove it to myself once and for all. They certainly have marketing dollars, because I see their commercials all the time. Look for a complete write-up in the near future. -Joe

‘Ransomware’ locks up computers

This Ransomware seems to be pretty prevalent. Be careful what you click on. Avoid the urge to click 🙂 on pop-ups, instant messages or social media messages from people you don’t know. Keep your Windows maintenance up-to-date and make sure you have a good Anti-Virus. As I said before, there’s no need to pay for an Anti-Virus. Microsoft Security Essentials is an excellent FREE Anti-virus and best of all its Anti-Annoying, unlike the major Pay-for-annoyance brands.

MIAMI — The questions are being asked more often: When a cyberattack hits your network, is it right to launch a counter-attack of some type to try to at least identify the source if not stop it? Since the wheels of justice do indeed grind slowly, should frustrated IT professionals with security skills take matters into their own hands or hire others to do so?
